BLOOD GROUP IDENTIFICATION CAMP IN KASARAGOD
BLOOD GROUP IDENTIFICATION CAMP IN KASARAGOD
Four pharma-teachers and six pharma-students of Malik Deenar College of Pharmacy, Kasaragod had a great community outreach program of blood group identification camp. The camp was organized by NSS Unit No. 41 of Kannur University in M I C Arts & Science College, Chattanchal, Kasaragod. And the college is situated in a rural part of India distancing from Kasaragod town for around 25 K.M.
Malik Deenar College of Pharmacy was invited for the work even though there are more than 5 nursing schools or colleges in the town. It was solely because of the professional rapport which developed from our college and other colleges in the town. Principal of MIC Arts & Science College Prof. K. Mohammad Kunhi is a well wisher of our pharmacy college and totally to the pharma-community. This recent but firm presence of pharma-community in Kasaragod was developed because of the efficient leadership of Dr. Sr. Molly Mathew, Principal, Malik Deenar College of Pharmacy.
The blood group identification camp was on 28th November 2008 from 9.30 AM to 5 PM. About 297 students of MIC Arts & Science College were undergone blood group identification. The most surprising thing is that approximately 50% of these students did know their blood groups, but they were joining the camp to make it a great success. This anticipates a wonderful positive attitude among youth about blood group identification and blood donation.
This was the third recent outreach program by Malik Deenar College of Pharmacy, after two pharma-exhibitions conducted in Kasaragod. The first one was conducted in Government College, Kasaragod as part of Jubex, the national exhibition organized along with golden jubilee celebrations of Government College, Kasaragod. The second pharma-exhibition was conducted in Sa-Adiya Arts and Science College, Kasaragod as part of Grandex, the 38th annual convection celebrations.
